CLICK HERE-- FOR HIGH INTENSITY INTERVAL TRAINING!High Intensity Interval Training

Since it accelerates the fat burning process, high intensity interval training has become an integral component in various body building and weight loss programs across the globe.

In order to lose fat, the human body needs to burn more calories than it consumes. When this happens, the stored fat is used as a reserve to compensate for the additional loss.

We generally resort to time consuming cardio workouts, such as treadmills and exercise bikes that require long hours of rigorous, tiring workout sessions. Apart from the fact that we get bored and give up just after a few such sessions we really have nothing to show for it.

A less-time consuming and far more effective calorie-burning workout is the       high intensity interval training workout.  With this training method you are able to blowtorch body fat! It destroys the number of calories that traditional methods of cardio discussed above will offer you.

What is the High intensity interval training?

Unlike traditional methods, the high intensity interval training workout includes a combination of relaxed, moderate and fast-paced exercises, while also alternating between two intensity levels. With this method of training in place you are able to effectively burn a substantial amount of fat in a lot less time, as opposed to traditional cardio methods.

Alternating between varying paces lets the body relax in between fast paced activities. As a result, the body is able work through prolonged, high intensity sessions not likely to happen otherwise.  A typical workout session may include the following:

  • Warm up – 5 minutes
  • Moderate-paced jogging – 1 minute
  • Fast-paced sprint – 20-30 seconds (repeat about 7 – 10 times)
  • Relax/Cool down – 5 minutes

There’s no hard and fast rule to limit you to these exercises alone. The exercises can be alternated and interchanged with the following:

  • On the spot jogging or marching/skipping (jump rope)
  • Cycling (vary the speeds to alternate between fast and moderate intensities)
  • Burpees

These 15 to 20 minute sessions will accelerate the heart beat during the high intensity sessions and during the moderate intensity sessions, let the body relax and prepare for the next high intensity session.

The body’s metabolism is accelerated during the high intensity sessions, resulting in more fat loss than in the traditional, 30 to 40 minute cardio exercise sessions.

High intensity interval training workouts are much more effective when combined with resistance training (using weights). The resistance training should, however, precede the high intensity interval training workout session.

When resistance training is followed by traditional cardio exercises, the body automatically regresses to the anabolic phase causing hindrance to muscle building. Whereas, the combination of resistance training and high intensity interval workouts will further accelerate the body’s metabolism enabling correct muscle repair later on. High intensity interval training should, therefore, be an integral part of every weight loss and body building program due to its undeniable benefits with respect to effectiveness and time.
